User Support Specialist

Position Description
This position requires the candidate to perform the following primary tasks on a daily/regular basis:
- Setup, maintain and troubleshoot end-user desktop workstations.
- Provide assistance in moving and re-installing equipment when required, implement and maintain desktop standards based on IT standards.
- Maintenance of printers including configurations and malfunctions.
- Phone, remote, and desk-side technical support to users.
- Install, maintain, and upgrade standard Windows desktop applications.
- Add and remove workstations to and from the domain.
- Configuration of systems, communications devices, and peripheral equipment for end users.
- Corrects and restores user PC workstations to operational status.
- Assist end users as required in a timely and accurate manner per SLA (Service Level Agreement).
- Maintain exceptional level of communication.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent or 2 years of desktop support experience.
- Experience providing end-user technical support.
- Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in an organized and efficient manner.
- Must demonstrate strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Must be able to articulate technical and user needs in a concise manner easily understood.
- Must be committed to providing exceptional customer service and responding to user
- Must have the ability to maintain a high energy level and a positive attitude.
- Must possess creativity and be willing to learn new things.
- Individual must be dependable and able to adhere to scheduling demands, including off-hours.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and crawl through spaces.
- Demonstrate proficiency using and supporting Microsoft Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003/2007.
- Knowledge of LANs/WANs, TCP/IP, and Active Directory
- Desk-side training for site personnel in proper use of hardware and software.
- Strong working knowledge of desktop hardware and peripherals.
- Experience with software used for hard drive imaging
- Experience with various types of remote control (Dameware, Remote Desktop, etc) and ticket-tracking support tools
- Experience with all Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
- Knowledge of SQL, PHP, Java, Ajax, and/or Information Security is a plus.
