LCD Ink Levels
Initial Fill on Printers with Internal Tubes
You may be concerned that the ink levels on your LCD screen do not indicate full cartridges after you have installed them for the first time. This is due to the printer filling the internal tubing with the ink from the cartridges. Open the top lid of your printer to see these tubes that feed the ink from the cartridges to the print head (GX7000 pictured below).

The ink is not "lost" or "wasted" but has simply been pulled into the printer. The ink levels on the LCD screen indicate what amount of ink remains in the cartridges. This only occurs the first time the printer is charged with ink, and any subsequent ink cartridge will start at the 100% level.
